Equipony Testimonials
Dear Reader,
I just had to let the public know how much our Equipony means to my family. We are the owners of one of the very first Equiponies ever to be built. Actually, he's the 2nd one (the first having been built for the Lovato children) that Frankie made and he made him for our son Jordan's 2nd birthday....in 1991!
He was modeled after one of our favorite horses that my husband rode, Lac Ouimet, and lived in our living room for years and years. He's moved with the family multiple times, across the country and back again. He's been lent out to exercise rider friends when they were in need of his rehabilitative powers. He'd been stored in attics, barns, and garages and eventually wound up on our front porch when we moved into our current home where he endured not only whatever Mother Nature had to dish out but daily play dates with numerous children who would ride the hair off him, then color him all over with chalk just so they could groom him.
Now, almost 17 years, 2 more children (girls, Sarah 6 and Isabella 4), 7 nieces and nephews later, like the Velveteen Rabbit, our Equipony had literally been just about loved to death. His beautifully carved face was cracked, his mane and tail non existent and his wooden frame so water logged that his poor little wheels came off, it was time for an extreme makeover. Our girls were loath to part with him so Frankie suggested that they autograph the interior of his frame so that when he returned home, they could see it was still their same pony. So, with their names lovingly scrawled in his interior frame, on a Ralph Smith van one spring morning he hitched a ride to his place of birth where he would spend the next 3 months being tenderly reconditioned. Since he was such an early model, a G2 pony (no rocking motion) he was moved up to a rock and rolling G1 model, given a new fresh carpet coat and the worlds best facelift. When Little Lac Ouimet returned home in the summertime, he was almost unrecognizable but when we flipped him up to see his interior, there in the same spots were the girl's names. They hugged and kissed him then proceeded to mount up and off they went into their wild blue imagination.
He's so much more than just an extreme rocking horse; he's a family member. He even lets me ride him daily (when the kids are out of the house of course!) while I watch TV or listen to music as riding him is so much fun that I don't even notice it's exercise. Now the only thing we need is a full size Equicizer to keep him company because like the Velveteen Rabbit, he's come to life and horses need friends.

Frankie and Sandy -Just thought we'd drop you a note and let you know that the Equipony my son received for Christmas last year is such a part of the family that we decided to make it part of our Christmas this year! These photos were sent in our 2005 Christmas cards.
This equipony is the best babysitter invented! He sits on it and "rides races" as he watches Uncle Chapie (Roman Chapa) at the Fairgrounds and Uncle Casey (Casey Lambert) at Sunland all day and then watches our horses run at night at Sam Houston. Not to mention he can "switch sticks" very quickly for a 4 year old! We are working on twirling it now!
Thanks again for such a wonderful product - this equipony gets "ridden" every single day!
Wishing you and yours a very blessed Christmas!
