About Wooden Horse Corporation And The Equicizer
|
 Jockey/Inventor Frank Lovato, Jr. |
The first Equicizer was developed in 1982 by Eclipse Award winning Jockey/inventor Frank Lovato, Jr. Frank, who always felt there should be a riding simulator, built himself a horse made of wood and springs to simulate riding as a means to rehabilitate himself from a badly fractured leg he had received from a racing accident. The wooden practice horse he later named the Equicizer, amazingly helped him regain his strength, flexibility and fitness. This idea was so well received by other jockeys that it inspired Frank to devote himself entirely in the development of the Equicizer and forming the Wooden Horse Corporation.
Originally designed for jockeys to aid in practice and development of their specialized skills, it didn't take long to realize the potential the Equicizer and it's little brother the Equipony had in benefiting other riding disciplines. Recognized by riding programs for individuals with disabilities, sports medicine facilities and riding academies, as well as the entertainment world where the Equicizer was used extensively in the making of the movie 'Seabiscuit'.
